“Ease” is a great word.
We who sew know that “ease” helps the fabric hug the body better, and therefore fit better.
But what if “ease” can also help your life feel better?
Have you ever noticed that when you repeatedly say the dress you’re making is not going well, that it seems to take even longer to finish?
And does it also seem true that when you are frustrated, you get more frustrated?
…and then you have to rip more stitches or cut out the skirt one more time. ![]()
Wouldn’t it be great if there was more EASE in the dressmaking process? Or more EASE in whatever you are struggling with?
I always want more ease in every aspect of my life!
What works wonders to help improve situations that seem to get more difficult with each passing minute, is to say what you want to have happen, not what you perceive is happening.
I am grateful that every day is easier.
I am grateful that I support myself in having an easier life.
You can also bring more ease to an individual part of your life (such as the dress you are making) by including that specific topic.
I am confident in my skills to make this dress.
I am grateful that I support myself in creating a beautiful dress that I love.
Try these basic actions to integrate these phrases into your body and mind.
Say the set of two phrases slowly several times, any time of the day, in any place. Breath comfortably between each time you say it. Repeat the phrases until your body relaxes, or until you feel able to breathe more easily.
Saying these phrases every day can do wonders to help you feel more at ease with every situation.
We really can shape our daily tasks of sewing, gardening, raising children, communicating with a loved one. No matter what we do, the principle of saying what you want to happen will always create better results than concentrating on what you think or feel is happening.
You know that when you’re hating yourself, or your life, or the project you’re working on, it can be really difficult to say something kind.
But you can do it. You can begin “breaking the habit of being yourself ” as Dr. Joe Dispenza calls it by forcing yourself to say these beneficial phrases – even if you have to say it through clenched teeth or tears.
Push through the resistance and say it until it’s easy to say.

Advanced action if you want to go deeper.
Say out loud and/or write down at least five things that happened recently that went easier than in previous times. It doesn’t matter if the improvement in the ease-factor is only 1%. Easier is easier, and every little bit helps.
Here’s to more ease every minute of the day.
